TBC removal activated alumina can also adsorb TBC (p-tert-butylcatechol) in hydrocarbons and heavy metal substances. The pore size of activated alumina for adsorbing TBC is larger than that of ordinary adsorbents, which helps to adsorb impurities in hydrocarbons.

These pores provide a huge surface area, and when impurity molecules (such as TBC, water molecules, etc.) touch the surface of activated alumina, they are captured by the pores, just like tiny particles being retained by the small holes of a sieve. In chemical adsorption, the atoms on the surface of activated alumina have unsaturated chemical bonds, which can form weaker chemical bonds with certain impurity molecules. For example, it can interact with certain polar impurity molecules and adsorb impurities on its surface through electrostatic attraction. Widely used in drying fluids and gases, it can remove impurities such as moisture, ensure the dryness of gases and fluids, and meet the needs of different industrial production processes.
